Position Overview:
The Treasurer at Matta will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Matta’s local and international treasury functions, cash flow operations, and strategy. This includes overseeing investments, risk management, corporate finance, and financial planning. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and working closely with finance leadership to support Matta’s financial decision-making and long-term financial sustainability across all the applicable countries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing the receipt, payment, banking, and protection of company funds.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
- Manage all the short-term or long-term Matta’s financial needs
- Responsible for implementing an efficient cash payment and receipt system in Matta.
- Maintaining the financial systems and policies controlling Matta’s treasury activities.
- Responsible for anticipating the company’s borrowing needs.
- Responsible for sourcing for appropriate finance to fund all Matter's operational and trading activities.
- Responsible for implementing an optimal capital funding structure in Matta
- Responsible for the implementation of strong controls against any financial fraud and ensure strong protection of funds from any potential misuse.
- Responsible for cash management procedures and management of investment activity.
- Manage bank and rating agencies relationships and investment portfolios.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial practices and legislation.
- Monitor Matta’s expenditure, submit reports on present financial situation and forecasting.
- Maintain financial records in accordance with the best practices and legal requirements.
- Advising finance leadership on risk assessments including company loans, investments, and liquidity.
- Provide advice on matters of corporate finance management.
- Advise finance leadership on financial planning and risk management.
- Proactively and efficiently execute work plans as approved by the Senior Financial Controller
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Financial Controller.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- MBA or other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience as treasurer with at least two (2) years in a reputable bank.
- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Thorough knowledge of financial legislation, regulation and practices
- Knowledge of monetary markets, investment management and financing techniques
- Ability to manage complex financial transactions and report on them effectively.
- Strong ethics, with a customer-oriented attitude.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make sound financial decisions.
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in the organization and build strong relationships with banking and funding partners.
- Attention to detail to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Leadership abilities to manage and mentor a finance team.
- Knowledge of risk management practices to protect the organization’s financial well-being.
- Strategic planning skills to forecast the organization’s financial future and develop budgets and financial plans.
- Integrity and ethical standards to manage the organization’s money responsibly and transparently.
- Experience in the Technology industry will be an added advantage.
