About The Team

The Revenue Function at Yoco is the acquisition and sales engine of Yoco, our team works at the intersection of where Yoco’s technology meets the real world. We are responsible for growing the Yoco brand inside and outside our company walls.

About The Role

First and foremost, this role requires a talented, strategic copywriter who is experienced in digital customer journeys and can balance the delivery of compelling creative copy with functional and technical needs. You’re a great cross-functional communicator - comfortable connecting with experts across the business for their insights, engaging openly in debate, and operating with the speed required in a test-fast-but-smart environment. You’re deeply in touch with the competitor landscape and constantly strive to make Yoco and our products stand out in a way that best represents our brand.

Strategic thinker and thought leader not shy to be hands-on and execute.

The role will report to the Head of Growth Marketing.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop copy strategies and write the copy for digital ads, website & SEO content and CRM campaigns to drive merchant acquisition, product adoption and improve conversion.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and implement data-driven cross channel campaigns that enhance user engagement and drive conversions.
  • Ensure high quality standards are matched and all copy aligns with our brand voice, tone, and style guidelines.
  • Work with designers and lead other copywriters to create cohesive and compelling content that enhances the user experience and drives growth.
  • Create and manage A/B tests to optimise digital ad copy, website content, and CRM messaging.
  • Analyse user behaviour, market trends, and performance data to identify growth opportunities and optimise copy tactics.
  • Conduct audience research to understand user preferences, pain points, and motivations, and tailor copy strategies accordingly.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of copy strategies, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging best practices in digital marketing and growth hacking.
  • Mentor and guide internal copywriters, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence within the team as well as managing freelancers.

About You

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in the development of communication, copy and content for digital platforms and channels.
  • You have technical knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and SEO.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to write technical content that is easily understandable by a broad audience while maintaining engagement and clarity.
  • You can analyse data and draw conclusions and insights
  • You can work autonomously, taking ownership and responsibility whilst collaborating with broader teams
  • You are naturally well-organised and have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • You are experienced in managing freelancers and providing guidance to internal teams
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
